I need suggestions

First let me say that I can't believe I'm going to show this to you guys. But I can't help but feel that if I don't ask then I will never come up with a solution. And probably someone else is having the same dilemma, so here goes ladies...

Hair that is in my hand and down below it is what is complete. Also some hair on the sides is complete. In one day! I'm excited.
But.......

Ok, so it's been about 4 weeks since I last reti my hair. I started Monday, but didn't reti any yesterday. Let me just mark it as 1 day of reti complete. So I have the entire top of my head to do and here's my problem. Because I can't spend alot of time on my hair in one sitting, I have to come up with a way to style my hair and mark where I left of. On Monday I spent approx. 6 hours on my hair throughout the day because it's my day off. For the rest of the days I can only spend about 2 or 3 hours. Because I'm new to doing this myself, takes me about 3 to 4 days to complete. So how can I style my hair over a 3 day period that is decent? Or what can I do to keep my place in the World of Thick Strands?

This is how I wore today and it is horrible, but what else can I do? Any suggestions my sistas?
What's in the bun is what is needing a reti. This is still alot of hair. It would probably take me 4 hours. I go a little faster in the front because I can see.

awaiting what great ideas you have for me...

I retighten my hair in 4 sections. Left, right, and bottom back (top of my earlobe down), and then earlobe up to my crown. I retighten over 3 - 4 days as well. And in the back I just let it hang free no biggie. I can feel where I left off. On teh sides, I just where the loosed side pinned back until I get the other side retightened. Hope that helps! Trust me though, no one notices that half of your locks are tightened and the others aren't only you can notice, because you know.

i'm not "old enough" to retighten on my own, but maybe starting front to back would be better/easier. if any one pays any attention the front will be take care of. I lien it to when you get you hair braided and you may have to take a second day if the front (or outer perimeter) is done then you can fake it LOL til you finish. But I don't see any problem with you hair btw :)

I like that idea, sexxi sassy. I don't know why I didn't think of it. It makes plenty of sense. Thanks for the compliment. I felt as though my hair was a hot mess that day.

I'm a newbie DIYer. What's the worst thing you've done while retightening your hair? I'm trying to get over my worst fear. Thanks for any advice!!! I don't have a blog so I just stalk your and others!!!

Hi Felicia! The worst thing I have ever done while retightening was connecting two locs. I admit I was so mad, but it's not that big of a deal. I learned how to put my hair up and away and pull one loc at a time so not to connect any more. Now quite honestly, I've purposely connected a few.
Don't be afraid. Do a few at a time or maybe even a row. See how you feel about it.

I wish I could give you some tips. I don't reti because of the time it takes for me to do it myself. My only suggestion is to do your partial head and then got to a trainee or consultant for the rest.

I start in the back of my head and work my way towards the front row by row up to the part that goes from ear to ear. Once I've gotten up to that point then I either work on each side doing an equal amount of rows on each side starting again from the bottom working my way up. Or I work from that crown area forward toward my face doing the sides last. I always try to complete a whole row b4 stopping for that day though you can tell where you left off by feeling the newgrowth like Gigglz said.

Again like Gigglz said no one can really tell but that's why I do it the way I do because I cannot finish it all in one day. I've had to go somewhere plenty of times in the middle of my session for that day. I just release them from the clamp/clip, spritz and go.

By the way, shoot that style was cute!!
